Family is the foundational unit of society. Also, the family is our first ministry. They are the people who are always with us and those we will spend the rest of our lives with. For that reason, the family ought to stick together no matter what happens. And praying for our families always is one way to achieve this goal.
Our Lord is always watching out for us, even when we may not realize it or think about him during the busiest moments in our days. But, when we want that extra feeling of safety or crave a little satisfaction knowing that God is listening, there are prayers for protection to read, say, and meditate on.
As the saying goes, “A family that prays together stays together.” Praying with our families strengthens our bond. It teaches the children, especially, to form a habit of prayer, depending on God for all that they need. Praying daily with the family is a good habit to form, especially at the beginning and the end of each day. It teaches each member of the family to seek God’s Will at all times, no matter what the circumstances in life are.
Never underestimate what the power of prayer can do in any situation. God knows exactly what we need, when we need it. So whether you’re calling for protection for your family, know that the Lord is listening, and he will answer when the time is right.

You are our fortress, this home has walls of love that are built on you. You are our sanctuary, our family rests in the grace laid out in your words of truth. You are our treasure, we hold one another in the faith, hope and joy that you sent.
Please watch over my family today when they step out the front door. Send an angel to guide them home safely and avoid any harm they may face.
