One of the most powerful things we can do in our relationships is to show appreciation and validation to the people we care about. It may not seem like much, but when we take the time to express our gratitude and acknowledge the feelings and efforts of others, it can have a profound impact on the strength and health of our relationships. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells us "Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as you are already doing."
In this verse, the Bible calls us to "encourage one another and build each other up." One important way to do this is through showing appreciation and validation for the people around us. It means taking the time to acknowledge the contributions and efforts of others, and to express our gratitude for their presence in our lives.
By expressing appreciation and validation, we can build trust, mutual understanding and strengthen our relationship. It also makes them feel valued, heard and understood, which can greatly contribute to the emotional well-being of both the giver and the receiver.
In addition, validation doesn't only mean saying "good job" or "I appreciate you" but also means listening, understanding and accepting their feelings, thoughts and ideas. it's important to validate the feelings of others even if we don't agree with them. It shows that we care and respect them.
In conclusion, the power of appreciation and validation in our relationships is significant. By taking the time to express gratitude and acknowledge the feelings and efforts of others, we can build stronger, more resilient relationships that can weather the storms of life.
