"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." - Ephesians 4:2.

This verse from the book of Ephesians encourages us to be present and fully engaged in our relationships with others. It reminds us that true love involves humility, gentleness, patience, and a willingness to bear with others.

When we are present in our relationships, we are fully engaged and invested in them. We are not simply going through the motions, but we are actively seeking to understand, to connect, and to support those we love.

Being present also requires us to be humble. It means that we put others' needs before our own, and that we are willing to listen and learn from those around us. When we are humble, we are able to see the world from others' perspectives, and we are better able to understand and connect with them.

Being gentle and patient is also important in our relationships. When we are patient, we are willing to forgive and to offer grace when things go wrong. When we are gentle, we are kind and compassionate, even in the face of adversity.

So, let us strive to be present and fully engaged in our relationships. Let us be humble, gentle, patient, and willing to bear with one another in love. Let us pray for the strength to love others in this way, and for the grace to live our lives in accordance with God's will.

Pray with us

Dear God, help us to be present and fully engaged in our relationships. Give us the humility, gentleness, patience, and love that we need to connect with others in meaningful ways. Help us to put others' needs before our own, and to offer grace and forgiveness when things go wrong. Amen.
