The center of our life - Christ
"Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things" - Colossians 3:1-2
As believers in Christ, it's important to remember that He should be the center of our lives. Colossians 3:1-2 reminds us to "set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
This means that rather than getting caught up in the distractions and cares of the world, we should keep our focus on Christ and the things of heaven. It's not always easy to do this, especially in a world that is constantly vying for our attention. But by actively seeking out ways to connect with Christ and keep Him at the center of our lives, we can better align our hearts and minds with His will.
So how can we do this? One way is to set aside regular time for prayer and Bible study, which can help us stay connected to Christ and better understand His will for our lives. Another way is to seek fellowship with other believers, whether through small groups or church communities. This can help us stay accountable and encourage one another to keep our focus on Christ.
Finally, we can look for ways to serve others in His name. Whether it's volunteering at a local ministry or simply offering a helping hand to a friend in need, there are many ways we can use our gifts and talents to serve Christ and further His Kingdom.
So as you go about your day, remember to keep Christ at the center of your life. Seek Him first, and trust that He will guide you and give you the strength to follow His will.
Pray with us
Dear God, help me to keep You at the center of my life. May my thoughts, words, and actions reflect Your love and bring You glory. Help me to set my hearts and minds on things above, rather than getting caught up in the distractions and cares of the world. Amen.
