Setting goals and intentions
"...but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me" - Philippians 3:12-14
It's important to have goals and intentions for our personal growth as we journey through life. In Philippians 3:12-14, the apostle Paul writes: "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me."
Paul recognized that He had not yet achieved all that He desired, but He was intentional about pressing on toward His goals. He did not let past failures or successes hold Him back, instead, He focused on the future and the prize that God had for Him.
In the same way, we can set goals and intentions for our personal growth, and trust that God will guide us toward the prize that he has for us. We can take steps forward in faith, trusting that He will lead us in the right direction.
As we set goals and intentions for our personal growth, let us turn to God in prayer. Let us ask for His guidance and wisdom, and let us trust in His plans for our lives. May we press on toward the prize that He has for us, and may we find joy and fulfillment in the journey.
Let us remember the words of Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." With God's help, we can set goals and intentions for our personal growth that align with His plans for our lives.
