Adoption is a beautiful picture of the gospel. Just as God chose to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ, we have the privilege of adopting children into our families. Adoption can be a difficult and emotional journey, but it is also a blessing and a joy. Through adoption, families are formed, love is shared, and lives are changed.
"God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." - Ephesians 1:5 (NLT). We are reminded that God decided in advance to adopt us into His family through Jesus Christ. It was His plan from the beginning, and it brought Him great pleasure to do so. As we consider the blessing of adoption in our own families, we can see that it too can bring great pleasure to our Heavenly Father.
Adoption is a reflection of God's love for us. We were all once strangers to God, but through His love and grace, we have been adopted into His family. In the same way, we have the opportunity to show love and grace to children who may not have a family of their own. We have the opportunity to give them a home, a family, and a future.
As we celebrate the blessing of adoption in our families, let us also remember that we have been adopted into God's family. Let us give thanks for His great love and mercy, and let us seek to reflect that love in our relationships with others.
Pray with us
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessing of adoption in our families. We thank You for the opportunity to show love and grace to children who may not have a family of their own. We thank You for adopting us into Your family through Jesus Christ. Help us to reflect Your love and grace in our relationships with others, and may Your name be glorified through our lives. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
