Set goals that align with your values and priorities as a Christian
"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth" - Colossians 3:1-2

Prayer Request
As we enter into the new year, many of us may be thinking about setting goals for ourselves. Whether it's to be more disciplined in our daily routines, to grow in a particular area of our lives, or to make a positive impact on the world around us, setting goals can be a helpful way to focus our energy and efforts.
But as Christians, it's important that our goals align with our values and priorities as followers of Jesus. In Colossians3:1-2, the apostle Paul writes, "If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."
What does it mean to "seek the things that are above" and "set your minds on things that are above"? It means that we should prioritize the things of God above all else. It means that we should seek to align our goals with God's will for our lives, rather than just chasing after whatever the world tells us we should be striving for.
So as you consider setting goals for the new year, take some time to pray and ask God to show you what He wants you to focus on. Ask Him to help you set goals that are in line with His plans and purposes for your life. And remember that even if you don't accomplish every single goal you set, as long as you are seeking to honor God and live out His values, you can trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Pray with us
Dear God, I pray that You would give me the wisdom to know what goals to set, and the strength and discipline to work towards achieving them. Help me to stay focused on the things that are above, rather than getting caught up in the distractions and distractions of this world. Amen.
