The Bible is filled with examples of men and women who lived out their faith boldly, despite facing great opposition and challenges. One such example is found in the book of Acts, when Peter and John were brought before the religious leaders for preaching about Jesus. In Acts 4:13, it says, "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus."
This verse serves as a reminder that it is not our own strength or knowledge that allows us to live out our faith boldly, but rather it is our relationship with Jesus. When we spend time in His presence, we are filled with His Holy Spirit and given the strength and courage we need to boldly proclaim the truth of the Gospel, even in the face of opposition.
Living out our faith boldly requires a willingness to step out of our comfort zone and take risks for the sake of the Gospel. It means being willing to stand up for what is right, even when it is unpopular, and to speak the truth in love, even when it is difficult. It means being willing to serve others sacrificially and to put the needs of others before our own.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to be salt and light in a dark and broken world. We are called to live out our faith boldly, to proclaim the truth of the Gospel with our words and our actions, and to make a difference in the lives of those around us.
May we be like Peter and John, unashamedly living out our faith in a way that causes others to take notice and recognize that we have been with Jesus.
Pray with us
Dear God, we thank You for the example of Peter and John, who lived out their faith boldly and fearlessly proclaimed the truth of the Gospel. Help us to be like them, to step out of our comfort zones and take risks for the sake of the Gospel. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and give us the strength and courage we need to live out our faith boldly, even in the face of opposition. May our lives be a testament to Your love and grace, and may others come to know You through our witness. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
